According to the Times of Israel, Iranian Foreign Minister Ayatollah Ali Akbarzai issued a statement on the 24th, stressing that Iran has repeatedly made clear that it is Israel that is waging war against Iran, not Iran against Israel.

So far, Iran and Israel have not agreed on any "agreement" on a ceasefire or a cessation of military operations.

However, Reuters quoted Iranian sources as saying that on June 23 local time, Iran had accepted the US proposed a ceasefire with Israel.

On the same day, Trump said on his social media platform Real Social that Israel and Iran had agreed on a "comprehensive and complete ceasefire" that would come into effect in about six hours and that both sides would complete their respective ongoing "final tasks."

But attacks have continued in the region since the agreement was reached, calling into question the effectiveness of the so-called "ceasefire."
