The route has been canceled, and the shipping company has stopped accepting bookings | Maritime export logistics

May 21,2025

Recently, the violent conflict in Libya has escalated, seriously disrupting local port operations. Hapag-Lloyd and Dachser have issued warnings to customers and announced the suspension of routes and booking services to some ports in Libya.

According to Lloyd's Register, the port of Tripoli in Libya has stopped operations since May 13, and there is no record of any ships arriving.

German shipping company Hapag-Lloyd subsequently announced that it would temporarily suspend all ships arriving at and departing from the port of Tripoli, and would no longer accept new bookings related to the port. In the notice, Hapag-Lloyd stated that due to the ongoing security issues in the port of Tripoli, port operations had been suspended until further notice, and the company had no choice but to take this measure.

At present, with the intensification of the internal conflict in Libya, port operations are facing severe challenges, and the docking of ships and booking of cargo on relevant routes have been seriously affected. Enterprises and customers relying on this port for transportation need to find other logistics solutions to ensure the smooth arrival of goods.

This incident also reminds the global trade community to pay attention to the impact of the turbulent situation on the shipping market and the stability of the supply chain.
