On June 9, Cosco Maritime Logistics issued a bulletin, reiterating to customers the importance of correctly declaring cargo information.

With the arrival of hot summer weather, the risk of dangerous goods transportation has increased significantly. Recently, fire accidents caused by new energy resources vehicles, lithium-ion batteries and second-hand fuel vehicles have occurred frequently. In order to ensure the safety of transport, COSCO SHIPPING emphasizes once again that the shipper of dangerous goods bears the key responsibility of safety.

Every shipper must be fully aware of the special nature of the transport of dangerous goods and strictly enforce their responsibility for safety management in accordance with the relevant provisions:

Proper packaging: Use packaging materials that meet the standards and are suitable for the characteristics of the goods, and make a scientific and reasonable packing. Strictly follow the preparations before packing, the operating specifications for packing and sealing, and the relevant requirements after packing to ensure that goods do not leak or other dangerous conditions during transport due to damaged packaging or improper packing.

Temperature control: For dangerous goods with temperature control requirements, it is essential to take effective temperature control measures to ensure that the goods are always in the specified temperature range throughout the transportation process.

Accurate information: timely and accurate to provide the carrier with the correct transport name, quantity, hazard characteristics, control and emergency temperature (if applicable), emergency response measures and other key information, so that the carrier can better carry out risk assessment and emergency response.
