Positioning in the Middle East and India! CMA CGM announces two new routes!

On February 18, CMA CGM announced the strengthening of its maritime route network in the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. This move aims to enhance connectivity between these strategically important regions and solidify its role as a key driver of trade and economic development.

On February 12, during Indian Prime Minister Modi's visit to France, he and French President Macron visited the headquarters of the CMA CGM Group together. The two sides focused on discussing the IMEC project, which aims to strengthen transportation links between Europe and India through integrated maritime and land infrastructure, and promote energy transportation and telecommunications development.

CMA CGM has added the BIGEX 3 and BIGEX 4 routes, expanding its direct service between India, the Gulf region, and the Red Sea. These two weekly routes offer leading transit times and ample refrigerated plug capacity. The BIGEX 3 route calls at Nhava Sheva Port, Mundra Port, Salalah Port, and Jeddah Port, with the first voyage departing from Nhava Sheva Port on February 23, 2025; the BIGEX 4 route calls at Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Dammam, and Umm Qasr ports, with the first voyage departing from the Nhava Sheva Port on February, 25, 2025.

CMA CGM operates 60 port terminals in 30 countries, supports regional trade, and contributes to the IMEC project. With its modern fleet and key port hubs, CMA CGM will support the corridor's efficiency and strategic vision.

Jesper Stenbak, regional director of CMA CGM Group, said, "The Indian subcontinent and the Middle East are key regions in global trade, and the strengthened network will help enterprises seize opportunities. CMA CGM will continue to provide excellent connectivity and logistics solutions."
