Apr 10,2023

On March 29, Guangzhou Customs seized a foreign passenger illegally carrying a large number of electronic equipment into the country at the airport port of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. A total of 56 boxes of old mobile phones, old mobile phone screens and other electronic equipment weighing 1.3 tons were seized at the scene.

In the afternoon of the same day, when the customs officers of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, affiliated to Guangzhou Customs, supervised an inbound flight, they found a foreign passenger at the customs clearance site without a declaration channel. With the help of airport staff, pushing more than a dozen luggage carts full of cartons of the same specifications for customs clearance. After inspection by the X-ray machine, the on-site customs officer found that the carton was full of electronic equipment and immediately intercepted it.

After opening the box for inspection, it was found that inside the carton were mobile phones and mobile phone screens simply packed in plastic bags. These mobile phones and mobile phone screen have used traces, some of the appearance is broken, the line is exposed, the screen has broken traces. After counting, 56 boxes of old mobile phones, old mobile phone screens and other electronic equipment, weighing 1.3 tons, were seized at the scene.

Hongde Xiaobian wondered: 56 boxes of luggage still go through the non-declaration channel? Such a large number of goods, let alone seized at the scene of the travel inspection, can hardly walk through the freight channel. What do you think about this?
