Is the bill of lading related to the customs declaration?

Bill of Lading (Bill of Lading) and customs declaration (Customs Declaration) are two inseparable documents in international trade. They play different roles in the process of transportation and customs clearance of goods. Bill of Lading (Bill of Lading) is the main transport document, issued by the shipping company or carrier (Carrier). It is the shipper of the goods to the consignee transfer the right of the certificate, but also in accordance with the agreement to deliver the goods to the designated destination documents. The bill of lading lists important information such as the name, quantity, packaging, port of loading and port of destination of the goods. The bill of lading is the key document for the handover and collection of goods, and the consignee can obtain the goods by virtue of the bill of lading or entrust an agent to handle the delivery and customs clearance procedures.

A customs declaration (Customs Declaration) is a document used for customs clearance.
In the exporting country, the exporter or agent is required to submit an export declaration to customs, which details the goods, such as the commodity code, quantity, value and origin. Customs verifies the goods on the basis of this information and approves the export after confirmation. In the importing country, the importer or agent is also required to submit an import declaration to the customs in order to complete the customs clearance of the imported goods. The link between the bill of lading and the customs declaration is reflected in the following aspects:1. The cargo information on the bill of lading is used to fill in the customs declaration form to ensure accuracy and consistency in the customs declaration process. 2. The loading port and destination port information on the bill of lading are used for the port of departure and destination ports in the customs declaration to help the customs understand the route and destination of the goods. 3. After the goods arrive at the port of destination, the consignee needs to submit the corresponding customs declaration to the customs, complete the customs clearance procedures, and rely on the bill of lading to extract the goods. Therefore, the bill of lading and customs declaration are closely related documents, which are essential for the smooth completion of the import and export procedures of goods. It is necessary to maintain the consistency and accuracy of the information between the bill of lading and the customs declaration.

Can customs declaration and bill of lading be refunded if they are not consistent?

Ensuring the consistency of customs declarations and bills of lading is critical to the smooth progress of tax refund applications. If there is an inconsistency between the customs declaration and the bill of lading, it may result in the refund application being rejected or the refund payment being delayed. Specifically, the following are effects and problems that may occur: 1.Refund application rejected: The tax bureau usually compares the information of the customs declaration and the bill of lading to verify the accuracy and compliance of the application. If the information is inconsistent, the tax bureau may consider the application to be erroneous or false and reject the tax refund application. 2.Delayed tax refund payments: If the customs declaration and the bill of lading are inconsistent, the tax bureau may take longer to verify and review, resulting in delays in the refund. 3.Compliance issues: Inconsistencies between customs declarations and bills of lading may be considered to be in violation of the relevant trade compliance requirements. This may lead to further investigation and examination of trading activities by tax or customs authorities, possibly involving fines or other legal consequences. Therefore, in international trade, it is very important to ensure the consistency of customs declaration and bill of lading. Shippers and customs declarers should work closely together to ensure that the tax refund application documents submitted to the tax bureau are accurate and ensure the consistency of all relevant documents and information. If inconsistencies are discovered before applying for a tax refund, corrective actions should be taken in a timely manner to avoid problems and delays in applying for a tax refund.
