Since 2021, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued 12 CPSC recall notifications on textiles produced in China, including 9 pajamas and 3 small carpet products, because the flame retardancy of textiles does not meet the U.S. flame retardant standards, posing a burn risk to consumers.

China is a major textile exporter, and the United States is one of China's main export destination countries, its textile technical regulations particularly emphasize the flame retardant performance requirements of textiles.

The Flammable Fabrics Act (FFA) stipulates that the flammability of textiles entering the US market must meet the corresponding standard requirements:
