UK e-commerce falls month-on-month in May; European and American port operations pick up in May; waste plastics recyclable

UK e-commerce spending falls 2.5 per cent month-on-month in May

 

 
Recently, Adobe released the UK Digital Economy Index data for May. According to the data, in May 2023, the total spending of British consumers on online shopping was 7.8 billion billion pounds, down 2.5 per cent month-on-month and 1.3 per cent year-on-year. The data also found a significant increase in ecommerce traffic from TikTok content, up 378 percent since January 2022.
 

 

TikTok Australia monthly live users reached 8.5 million

 

Recently, TikTok announced its user scale in Australia for the first time. According to the data, TikTok Australia has 8.5 million million monthly live users, equivalent to 30% of Australia's total population, including 350000 corporate accounts marketed through TikTok.

 

 

 

 

Operational efficiency picked up at major European and US ports in May

Xiaomi about $0.68 billion officially confiscated by India

 

 
A few days ago, the Indian Law Enforcement Agency (ED) issued a document stating that Xiaomi was suspected of violating the country's Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and "illegally transferring funds to foreign entities". The agency has issued formal notices to three banks including Xiaomi Technology India Private Limited, Xiaomi India Branch, some executives and Citi. Due to this accusation, the Indian authorities have previously seized a total of 55.51 billion rupees (about US $0.68 billion) of Xiaomi, which is currently priced at nearly 5 billion yuan.
 
 

Broadcom's second-quarter net profit up 34% year-on-year

 

Recently, Broadcom released the company's 2023 fiscal year second quarter earnings. According to the report, Broadcom's net revenue in the second quarter was $8.733 billion, up 8% from $8.103 billion in the same period last year, but down from $8.915 billion in the previous quarter, while net profit was $3.481 billion, up 34% from $2.59 billion in the same period last year.
