HPL: Latest fee adjustment! $300 per container! | Sea Freight Export Logistics

Recently, Hapag-Lloyd (HPL) announced that it will impose a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on routes from the Far East, the Indian subcontinent, and the Middle East to Australia. This surcharge will apply to all container types and flights from August 1, 2025, until further notice.
The specific levying standards are as follows: Effective date: August 1, 2025 Fee amount: US$300 per TEU (20-foot standard container), applicable to all types of containers.
The geographical scope of application includes the following starting points: Far East: encompassing China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macau in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Brunei, Myanmar. Middle East: covering the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia (Dammam and Riyadh via Dammam). Indian Subcontinent: including India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
Destinations: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Fremantle, and other major ports in Australia. Hapag-Lloyd's peak season surcharge program aims to address the seasonal fluctuations in shipping market demand and ensure stable and reliable transportation services for customers during peak cargo periods.
