The price increase is approaching 70%! The price increase notice for the European and Mediterranean routes has arrived 丨 Marine Export Logistics

Last week, several shipping companies announced plans to adjust freight rates for June from China to Europe and the Mediterranean, with significant increases.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping announced that the freight rate from the Far East to the Northern Europe base port will be increased to US $1,920 / 20ft CRU and US $3,200 / 40ft CRU from June 1, 2025. Freight rates for the Far East to the Western Mediterranean will be raised to $3,500 / 20ft containers and $5,000 / 40ft high cases, respectively.

On the same day, CMA CGM CGM announced that the freight rates from Asia to European Base Ports will be increased to US $1,750 / 20ft TEU and US $3,100 / 40ft TEU and KIA effective 1 June 2025.

Hapag-lloyd also announced that FAK rates for Far East to Europe will be increased effective 1 June to cover 20ft and 40ft dry and refrigerated containers.

In addition to the three major shipping companies, COSCO, Evergreen, Yangming Shipping, etc., have also been sent to the customer by phone or email price notification, or basic and MSC, CMA and Hapag-lloyd's adjustment quite.

These adjustments reflect the shipping company's overall consideration of market demand and operating costs.

With June 1 approaching, freight rates will be markedly changed on related routes, and shippers need to pay close attention and plan ahead to cope with the operational challenges brought by the rising freight tariffs.
