When sending international express to overseas, some items may need to go through the "customs clearance" process, which means that they have a certain chance of being returned by the customs. So, what items are easily returned when shipped by EMS by air?
What items may be returned?
Tape items: such items are prohibited by air and can only be transported by sea to improve customs clearance rates.
A small amount of liquid, meat and powder: these items can be tried in small quantities, but it is recommended to go by sea in large quantities.
Usually when the warehouse is packed, the staff will check whether there are non-conforming items and notify the customer. In most cases, items that can be sent out will be packed normally. However, sometimes customs security is strict, although through the clearance of the package may also be returned.
What if the package is returned?
Parcel returns are divided into domestic returns and destination country returns, which are handled differently.
Domestic return process:
Resend: The customer resubmits the shipment request after receiving the return notification.
Warehouse inspection: warehouse personnel open the box for inspection, take out non-conforming items and notify customers.
Settlement weight: after taking out the unqualified items, re-settle the weight to reduce the freight difference; If you need to increase the weight of the package, you can also pay the freight.
Re-delivery: no need to pay customs clearance fee, we will directly arrange re-delivery. Many shipping companies charge clearance fees, but we don't.
Return processing to the country of destination:
If the package is returned by the destination country, there is no option to return it for retransmission. At this time, you need to pay the freight and deliver the goods again according to the process of the new package.

Foreign trade friends and cross-border e-commerce sellers need to pay special attention to customs security inspection requirements. In particular, dangerous goods, such as flammable and explosive goods, must not be shipped. Once dangerous goods or false declarations are found, the customs will deal with them in accordance with the law and impose penalties, and may even suspend the exit business of the enterprise.
