What is Shuangqing to the door? And its advantages and disadvantages

Jun 05,2024

In the field of cross-border e-commerce, many sellers may hear the transportation method of "Shuangqing to the door", but not many sellers really understand its meaning and operation. Today, we will discuss in detail what is "Shuangqing to the door" and its advantages and disadvantages.

What is "double clear to the door"?

"Double clearing" refers to customs clearance in the exporting country and customs clearance in the exporting country. "Shuangqing to the door" means that the seller hands over the goods to the freight forwarding company, which is responsible for the entire transportation process, including towing, export declaration, shipping, customs clearance at the port of destination, and finally the goods to the designated destination. This is a door-to-door one-stop service, usually understood as "double-clearing tax to the door", which means that the seller needs to bear the greatest risk and responsibility.

Which goods apply "double clear to the door"?

Although "Shuangqing to the door" provides a convenient service, it is not applicable to all goods. In general, this service applies mainly to general cargo. Some sensitive goods may encounter problems in customs clearance in the destination country. Therefore, it is not suitable to use this method. In addition, not all freight forwarding companies can provide "double clear to the door" service on any route or country.

Advantages of Shuangqing to the door

1. Convenience: The seller only needs to hand over the goods to the freight forwarding company and wait for the goods to be received. All kinds of problems in the transportation process will be solved by the freight forwarding company.

2. Save time and effort: reduce the seller's operations in logistics and customs declaration, saving time and energy

Disadvantages of Shuangqing to the door

1, customs risk: some freight forwarding companies may choose to reduce tariffs and low declaration or concealment, increasing the risk of customs inspection.

2. Risk of sharing EORI number: Sometimes multiple customers share one EORI number for customs clearance. Once a certain ticket has problems, other goods will also be affected.

3. VAT invoice problem: The buyer may request an invoice containing VAT. If the seller cannot provide it, the buyer has the right to refuse to pay for the goods. Imported VAT deduction: When using the VAT of the freight forwarder for customs clearance, no imported VAT can be deducted, and the corresponding sales VAT is required for customs inspection.

"Shuangqing to the door" is an extremely convenient mode of transportation, especially suitable for cross-border sellers who want to simplify the logistics process. However, this approach is also accompanied by a risk and challenge, the seller in the choice of use need to fully understand the possible problems, and make the corresponding preparation.
