The reporter learned from the conference that in the first quarter of this year, Guangdong's foreign trade import and export was 1.84 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 0.03 percent. Among them, exports were 1.22 trillion yuan, up 6.2 percent, while imports were 622.33 billion yuan, down 10.2 percent.

The editor of Hongde learned: At the meeting, Wen Zhencai, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs, introduced that since the beginning of this year, the risk of global economic recession has increased, the growth of external demand has slowed, and the growth of major economies has been weak, which has constituted a continuous impact on global trade. In the first quarter, Guangdong's foreign trade was under pressure and went against the trend to achieve positive growth. According to statistics from the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs, in the first quarter of this year, Guangdong's foreign trade imports and exports totaled 1.84 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 0.03 percent. Among them, exports were 1.22 trillion yuan, up 6.2 percent, while imports were 622.33 billion yuan, down 10.2 percent.

Wen Zhencai introduced that on the whole, Guangdong's foreign trade import and export had many bright spots in the first quarter. In the first quarter, the total import and export volume of Guangdong's foreign trade goods hit a record high in the same period, and the scale continued to rank first in the country. In January this year, affected by the Spring Festival factors, imports and exports fell by 22.7; in February, the decline rebounded, imports and exports increased by 3.9; in March, the growth rate of imports and exports rose to 25.7, the growth rate of foreign trade increased month by month, showing a steady and good trend.

In the first quarter, Guangdong's general trade import and export amounted to 1.06 trillion billion yuan, up 3.8 percent, accounting for 57.5 percent of the total import and export value. During the same period, the import and export of processing trade was 434.21 billion yuan, accounting for 23.6 per cent. The full recovery of cross-border logistics has promoted the development of bonded business. In the first quarter, the import and export of Guangdong bonded logistics was 315.64 billion billion yuan, an increase of 14.8 percent, accounting for 17.2 percent of the total import and export value, an increase of 2.2 percentage points over the same period last year.

In addition, in the first quarter, the number of foreign trade enterprises with import and export performance in Guangdong was 91000, an increase of 8.8 percent over the same period last year. Among them, the import and export of private enterprises was 1.1 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 5%, accounting for 59.5 of Guangdong's total import and export value, an increase of 2.8 percentage points over the same period last year. During the same period, foreign-invested enterprises imported and exported 636.12 billion yuan, accounting for 34.6 percent, and state-owned enterprises imported and exported 106.53 billion yuan, accounting for 5.8 percent.

"New three" into a new driving force for foreign trade growth

Wen Zhencai mentioned that products with high technology, high added value and leading green transformation have become a new driving force for the growth of Guangdong's foreign trade exports. In the first quarter, the export of electric manned vehicles, lithium batteries and solar cells increased by 10.5 times, 50.5 percent and 1.2 times respectively.

Chen Needle, deputy director of Guangzhou Customs, said that in the first quarter of this year, the export of new energy vehicles, photovoltaic products and lithium batteries from seven cities in Guangzhou Customs District totaled 2.37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of double. Among them, the export volume in March alone reached 1.1 billion billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.9 times, becoming a new growth point of current foreign trade.

Chen Needle said that in order to speed up the development of the new energy automobile industry, Guangzhou Customs provides 24-hour customs clearance appointment service, guides export enterprises to "declare in advance", implements "ship-to-person, immediate inspection" for ro-ro ships docking at Nansha Automobile Port, promotes the seamless connection of "front-end loading-in-transit transportation-loading operation", and greatly improves customs clearance efficiency. Support enterprises to expand their automobile import and export business through the China-Europe train, and provide customs clearance services such as self-selected customs transfer and railway rapid customs clearance. On January 12 this year, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's first special train for the export of new energy vehicles to China and Europe was sent out from Guangzhou International Port. Up to now, three trains have been shipped, adding a new channel for the export of new energy vehicles in the Greater Bay Area.

Strong demand for commodities such as coal and crude oil

Wen Zhencai also mentioned that in the first quarter, ASEAN, China Guo Hong Kong, the European Union, the United States and China Guo Taiwan were Guangdong's top five trading partners. Among them, imports and exports to ASEAN, China Guo Hong Kong and the European Union were 313.7 billion yuan, 222.53 billion yuan and 221.19 billion yuan, up 10.6 percent, 1.4 percent and 2.2 percent respectively, and imports and exports to the United States and China Guo Taiwan were 210.98 billion yuan and 134.99 billion yuan, 6.6 per cent and 9.4 per cent, respectively. Yuan Shengqiang, second-class inspector of the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs, mentioned that since January this year, after the resumption of normal management of cross-border truck transportation between Guangdong and Hong Kong, the number of cross-border trucks between Guangdong and Hong Kong has continued to increase. By March, the average number of cross-border trucks between Guangdong and Hong Kong has increased to 11000, an increase of 2.3 times.

In addition, Guangdong's imports and exports to Guo countries along the "the belt and road initiative" increased by 10.9, accounting for 29.4 of the total value of imports and exports. Imports and exports to other RCEP member countries increased by 2.8. In addition, Brazil to Latin America increased by 47.4.

Hongde Xiaobian believes that: in terms of imports, as the domestic economic operation continues to improve overall, the demand for commodities is strong.In the first quarter, the import value of Guangdong coal, crude oil and iron ore increased by 41.1, 0.4 and 34.9 respectively. With the recovery of domestic consumption "yan fire gas", the import of pearl gems, semi precious stones and jewelry increased by 72.2 and 2.9 times respectively; the import of meat, aquatic products and dairy products increased by 33.5, 23.7 and 20.1 respectively; and the import of automobiles increased by 25.1.

On the whole, Hongde Xiaobian believes that Guangdong's foreign trade import and export showed strong resilience and vitality in the first quarter, laying the foundation for achieving the annual growth target. With the stabilization and recovery of the domestic economy, the steady release of foreign trade policy dividends, the accelerated landing of major projects, the Canton Fair, "Guangdong Trade Global" and other domestic and foreign exhibitions led to an increase in new orders, business confidence continued to increase, will provide solid support for the development of Guangdong's foreign trade.
